Generations in the print industry unknowingly began with one man—a dedicated father named Arthur Doughty. With over 30 years in offset printing at White Arts Inc. (Saint Clair Press), Arthur showed up day after day, mastering his craft with consistency and pride. Over time, he earned a “living legend” reputation, operating complex print machinery for multi-million-dollar companies across the industry.
Arthur collected the awards, achievements, T-shirts, and coffee mugs that come with a long career—but it was what went unnoticed that truly defined WestWallCo.
At the end of each shift, Arthur would sort through misprinted posters—often movie or sports prints deemed unacceptable by clients due to ghosting, slurring, misregistration, or typographical errors. These prints were destined for the trash.
To Arthur’s three kids, they were nothing short of incredible.
He would bring them home, letting his children study them, touch them, and hang them on their walls. What the industry saw as mistakes became art, inspiration, and lasting memories. For his son Brent, those moments left a permanent mark. His dad wasn’t just a printer—he was the coolest person he knew.
